2014 Review of the Year
14th Dec, 2014 at 5:17pm

Review of 2014

Ok folks, it's that time again when we put together a programme which showcases some of the tracks from albums which have surfaced during 2014. Sorry there has been no show for some time but there has been some technical problems but Darrran has managed to find a solution and we've got 60 tracks onto the server. There is some top music and some great long tracks (the show lasts around 11 hours), I don't pretend that these are the best 60 prog / art rock albums / tracks of the year but there is a good cross section of new releases. So here are the broadcast times:

* Sunday 21st December starting at 7.00 pm British Time.
* Wednesday 24th December (Xmas Eve) at 7.00pm
* Sunday 28th December at 12.00 noon
* Wednesday 31st December (New Years Eve) at 7.00pm

Hope you can drop by and listen at some time while you are celebrating the season. We've had some cracking albums from established artists such as IQ and Opeth but as usual many of the top albums have come from relatively obscure bands. Hope you enjoy !!! Here's the playlist and please comment on your fave CDs and the music year in general. Seasons Greetings  Smiley

I'm finally getting a chance to listen to this set, and I'm not surprised to find that I have already enjoyed the first three songs that I've heard therein, namely
Synaesthesia - Time, Tension & Intervention
    Illuvatar - Across The Coals
    Fossil Evolution - Considering

These are very nice (and very progressive). Thanks, MickK!

I'm intrigued by the fact that the
Synaesthesia
here is a band that was started in 2012, but I own discs from another
Synaesthesia
that was from that 1990's. These two bands are well and briefly described on last.fm here:
    http://www.last.fm/music/Synaesthesia

This could be a first for me: Owning music from two bands with the same name!

Cool  Shocked

Happy 2015 to all SA (and non-SA) people!
