All,
Well, having now returned from holiday, I'm delighted to say that everything here at S.A. is now back to normal.
Although
SAM automatically recovered from the two power-cuts whilst I was away, the link between
SAM and the website failed, so the 'currently playing' information was unavailable. Unfortunately, the automatic recovery for this kind of problem didn't kick-in as expected.
Also, the main 'issue' whilst I was away was that our Streaming Host acquired a new block of IP addresses which S.A. was moved onto. Essentially,
SAM was attempting to connect to a 'dead' IP address ...
From our Streaming Host :-
As part of our ongoing expansion we have requisitioned a new block of IP addresses from ARIN. To fulfill their requirements, we must renumber into this new block,
which means that we will have to assign new addresses to our european servers;
We will also provide a new BGP bandwidth mix for this server and it will be directly connected through multiple direct Peerings and Tier1 optical fiber Backbone providers: NTT-Telia-Level3-Interoute-Tiscalinet-TeleGlobe-TDC
This will mean a better performance for all your listeners.Anyway, sincere apologies for this outage. Many thanks for bearing with me and enjoying the forum whilst the stream was down.
Continue to enjoy ...
