Great idea Proghead 2112! Cheesy

I should say that these are really my favorite Top 10 (at the moment)....

1. Genesis - Selling England By the Pound
2. King Crimson - Court of the Crimson King
3. Camel - Moonmadness
4. Gentle Giant - In A Glass House
5. Brand X - Unorthodox Behaviour
6. Yes - Yessongs
7. PFM - Per Un Amico
8. Jethro Tull - Benefit
9. Pink Floyd - Meddle
10. Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte

Top n's are impossible, as they change on aa daily basis influenced by mood Smiley

Bottom n's are much easier, as some stuff always annoys me.
As I said in my introduction, I'm a convert from radio Paradise.
If only SA had their web interface ...
Then you can
* rate each and every song played here
* calculate avarages based on bands/performers
* calculate avarage of everything played
* comment on a per-song basis

The big advantage of being able to comment on every single song is the extra information people type there. Reading background info on a song, clickable from the playlist, was one of the very possitive sides of RP.
Here we have to go to the forum, go to the last page of the now plays thread (currently page 47 or 48) and add comment
Returning later makes it hard to anser specific questions about a group/performer or react on statements posted

Please do not see this as critique, as the *music* is much more important than the interface.
But it might be worth a peek, just to feel what I mean.
If you lot here at SA keep up the quality I experienced the last three weeks, it's unlikely I'm going back to RP

Yes its a hard call on the top 10, perhaps 20 would have been easier. I failed to include Tull, what was I thinking  LOL. I also listed ELO which may not be a true prog band.  Sorta like Asia, made up of true prog musicians but their music is only on the fringe prog related. Only my opinion.

I think its great just to see which albums different people consider to be 'the top 10' -
hmm.. I dunno Tux - seems like commenting on each song played on SA would take an enormous amount of time. Roll Eyes

What do you thing Progmaster?

Interesting concept Tux and one I have not seen being used before.

To be honest, it would be well down in the development work-stack here at S.A. More immediate considerations are enhancing the website to include album information, links to Amazon and links to the 'currently playing' band's website. That and further enhancements to the discussion forum.

In the meantime, feel free to start a new thread regarding questions / information for a specific band or artist. Alternatively, using the extensive search function on the forum is very useful, rather than having to trawl through the posts looking for something specific.

Enjoy.
