Hi there Bob and welcome to the forum !!

Well, you're the first listener to suggest 'Camel' for the 'Marathon Treatment' - I will have to check what is on file to see how much of a marathon could be run ...

Anybody else fancy this ... ??

The only Camel album I have is 'Nude' which is very good indeed, so it would be nice to hear some more. Excellent guitarist I seem to recall. Is it Andy Latimer? Is there enough back catalogue for a whole session though?

Thanks for the replly Silver!   I Count 24 - Including Live Albums (from 1971 (?) to Present)
Check out their official site for more info.
http://www.camelproductions.com/
The 70's material is excellent; The 80's mostly good showing moments of brilliance - a mixed bag!  After that I haven't listened to much - Never Let Go (live) from 1993 is top notch. Best  for me would be 'Moonmadness', 'the Snow Goose', 'Mirage', 'Raindances' and about 1/2 of each of 'I Can See My House From Here', 'Breathless' and 'Stationary Traveller'.

Andy Latimer indeed IS INCREDIBLE on Guitar and Flutes, the Late and Great Peter Bardens on Keys, Andy Ward and Doug Fergeson on Drums & Bass respectively - with comings and goings of several great prog musicians (Colin Bass, Richard & Dave Sinclair, Eno, Mel Collins, Jan Schelhaas, Kit Watkins, etc..)

So...everything you wanted to know but didn't ask Grin!

take care Smiley

Sorry - I didn't mean to be so heavy-handed with that last post (I get carried away easily...that, and I really like Camel) Perhaps what would be better is if some different Camel could be played - let the music do the talking.  Have you got Moonmadness? Lunar Sea would be lovely to hear (esp. the remastered one-which I don't have) Smiley
thanks

This is 'Progressive Rock' we're speaking of here after all btn - you can never provide too much information or be a 'know-it-all' for that matter. The more information the better !!  Grin

I have only a little exposure to Camel
but everything I have heard has been enjoyable

I think I would say the same for Gentle Giant or Spocks Beard
I'd love to hear more of them but I doubt that it would create an intense interest
like Yes Genesis Floyd or something like that
