Darran,

I just heard you tell people not to worry if they can't connect because the server is full - but how can they hear you say that if they can't connect Smiley

lol - I see what you mean, Alan. Grin

The mini-spiel that I say from time-to-time is to remind listeners of the AAC+ server. As the MP3 server hits full capacity on and off on a daily basis, not to give up hope and to try the AAC+ server as an alternative when this happens. It's aimed at listeners who've encountered this - and are obviously tuned-in again when I speak ... Roll Eyes

I used the AAC+ stream recently and thought it sounded good. Eventually after quite some time started to have problems with buffering, switched back to the main stream.

Strange one, Dan. As the AAC+ server requires far less bandwidth it would be odd for any buffering to occur at all - especially when compared to the MP3 server.

At least you're not experiencing any issues when tuned-in to the MP3 server. Like I say, it's just to remind listeners that there's a viable alternative when the MP3 server is full - as AAC+ is a far newer technology than MP3, it can stream high quality audio even at low bit-rates.

It may be a strange one, but this is what happens consistently when I try the AAC+ stream here.

I get the AAC+ stream from WFMU.org quite a lot and *occasionally* have problems with buffering there too. I will get buffering there if I try to do a lot of other internet activity simultaneously with receiving their stream, and, rarely, buffering when not doing other acitivity.

No problems with the MP3 stream here, none at all!
