I see on progarchives they have a new feature - "Popular Artists" in the main banner.

Nice to see nearly all of the bands mentioned are featured regularily here on SA.
However they're are a few that aren't - perhaps they could be incorporated at a later date (money permitting !).
The missing bands are SBB & Riverside (both from Poland), Frost*, Opeth & Uriah Heep.

The Frost* track on progarchives sounds pretty amazing !!

Over to you Darran !!

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the suggestions.

Have no fear, I've already bought a number of CDs by contemporary groups that are going to be added to the regular programming ... once I can afford SAM's hard drive upgrade. To give you an idea, here's a few :-

  • Blackfield - Blackfield
  • Blackfield - II
  • Forgotten Suns - Snooze
  • Kaipa - Keyholder
  • Liquid Tension Experiment - 2
  • Magic Pie - Motions Of Desire
  • Magic Pie - Circus Of Life
  • Moth Vellum - Moth Vellum
  • Opeth - Orchid
  • Opeth - Morningrise
  • Opeth - Ghost Reveries
  • Radiohead - In Rainbows
  • Ritual - The Hemulic Voluntary Band
  • Unifaun - Unifaun
There's obviously a lot of other CDs that are also waiting to be added but the above list represents the contemporary groups. The next 'buying spree' won't happen until at least I can afford the new hard drives and they are in situ.

As usual, I'll update as and when progress is made.

Unifaun was my favorite release of 2008. It captures the old Genesis sound without copying it. I would have to call it a "lost" Genesis album. It's that good imo.

Thanks D.  Smiley

Indeed. From the tracks that I've listened to, it's an excellent album from an interesting (Italian) group. Cool

Incidentally, the albums listed above are purely CDs from contemporary groups that I've bought over the past couple of months. There are a lot more ... Cool

Kaipa are great - I have most of theirs. KVB, not so sure about. I have one of theirs and it's a bit wishy washy (IMHO)

I've heard of Unitopia but don't have any of their CDs, JestersTear.

As usual, I shall investigate. Cool

Speaking of new acts, I have a CD's worth of material that I would like to have reveiewed, and/or even ( hopefully ) played here.  Can you please tell me the process involved in getting that accomplished?

Thanks.
