All,
And now the good news ...

The website and discussion forum is now residing on a dedicated, private server with far more processor capacity, memory, bandwidth and components all running on the very latest, stable versions. This will go an extremely long way to support the growth and future development of the S.A. experience and of course, result in much faster and stable use.
Also, the discussion forum has been upgraded and is now running on the very latest version -
2.2.2. As you've no doubt already noticed, all of the membership details, topics, threads and posts are completely intact and functioning under the new version. There really is a huge amount of new features, enhancements and background, administrative elements. A lot of these new features will be apparent and hopefully easy to use but of course, all of the online help guide information has been upgraded, providing detailed information as to what is new in this very latest release.
It hasn't been as easy to upgrade to this new version as in the past, with a great deal of manual configuration and tweaking needing to be done myself to ensure that the forum is functioning as it should. But I'm delighted with the results thus far and am still finding my own way around some of the new features.
As you've also no doubt noticed, the default template has changed. There are a couple of cosmetic amendments that I'm going to be making shortly - to enable certain lines of text to appear clearer than they currently do, as an example but on the whole, I personally like it. Also, there are several other 'skins' to choose from if you're not personally happy with the default 'black look'. Simply visit (the new and expanded !!) User Control Panel, go to 'Profile > Options' and choose an alternative theme from the drop down list. Again, there may be a little cosmetic tweaking needed but all of the themes that I have loaded are fully functional and working.
Oh yes, the 'Media' tag now works across the entire forum and not just in the Media Centre so feel free to embed 'YouTube' clips and the like in any given post you make. In saying this, I will be keeping the Media Centre well and truly open and plan some further enhancements for this section soon.
There are many other, smaller enhancements that have been made (extra Avatars spring to mind), so feel free to ask away - either by PM'ing me personally, replying to this thread or starting a new thread within the
Ask The Admin section.
Enjoy !!
