I have been advised by our streaming host that they are carrying-out essential maintenance and upgrades on Saturday, 26th of May between 11:00pm and 4:00am (GMT) at the Data Centre in London where our ShoutCast servers reside. During this time, there may be brief interruptions to the S.A. stream. However, this will not involve a full outage, only brief, intermittent stream interruptions. As has been outlined by our stream host, this work has been scheduled during 'off-peak' hours.

This is essential work and will ensure an even more resilient, reliable and improved service to all S.A. listeners.

This work does not conflict with DJ Silver's Fish Marathon which is being re-broadcast throughout the course of this week.

We have scheduled this maintenance window during off peak time to limit the impact this will have on clients.

- In an effort to provide an even higher level of redundancy within our network infrastructure, we have upgraded our secondary core routers at our datacenter facility. We are also configuring a full iBGP mesh, over our private dark-fibre-based Internet backbone.

- During this upgrade, we will be adding in additional routers into our network infrastructure, as well as upgrading current routers to newer Cisco 6513 models, outfitted with our standard deployment of 100% redundant components and 10GigabitEthernet cards. These represent some of the most powerful routing and switching devices available in the market today.

- These upgrades and modifications will further ensure that our network remains online and available at all times even if multiple issues arise at our facility. Please note that should these interruptions occur, they will likely only affect some Internet users attempting to access your streams.

We have scheduled this maintenance window during off peak time to limit the impact this will have on clients.
