Yes - Close To The Edge (Live)

You are right, in that this is a lovely performance of this song live.

I have seen Yes live several times and whenever they play this song, the crowd goes crazy.  The three point harmony, the insanity at the beginning, the beauty of Get Up, Get Down, the soaring keyboards, the distinctive bass, the fine drumming keeping a time measure that is forever changing; it is a masterpiece of progressive rock.

Nothing against Van Halen, but can someone explain to me why they are in the RnR Hall of Fame and Yes is not?  For that matter, I ask the same question regarding Genesis, ELP, Jethro Tull, and so many others, who richly deserve that honor?

Tom Jones Vs Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Sex Bomb right into Hawkwind - Hash Cake'77.  Now only SA can do that,  Smiley.

Pass the comfort, and another slice of cake please.

That would be me Steven. An 'interesting' take on the original song(s). Quirky, in my opinion but have no fear, there's no corporate takeover on the cards ... Wink

Rick Wakeman - Catherine Parr

This period in Wakeman's career was prolific.

Between his Yes work and his solo work and with th English Rock Ensemble, he produced some of the most memorable prog rock keyboard music ever.

Pray tell why is he, as well as his mates in Yes and the ERE not in the RnR Hall of Fame when David Lee Roth is?

Bodkin - Aunt Mary's Trashcan

Now this song is cracking.

Also another song early this morning by Garybaldi was excellent.

Gotta love that organ work by Bodkin.

Genesis - Watcher Of The Skies

Speaking of great organ work, just listen to the beginning of this song.

Also, one of the greatest opening album songs ever, from likely my favorite Genesis album Foxtrot.
Although Selling England is just as well liked.
