Home - Fancy Lady, Hollywood Child
Now I do not dislike it and actually would be interested in hearing the rest of the album, however, it seems to far from the prog realm. Is there some other aspect to this band which places squarely in the prog circle?
Hi again Steven,
I know what you mean about that particular track not sounding very 'prog'.
Home are certainly an interesting group (and a popular one here at S.A.). Sadly over-looked 'back in the day' (they were a British group from the early '70s), they only released a few albums.
Guitarist Laurie Wisefield was originally from
Wishbone Ash and their music reminds me of both WB and
Family in places, although they do have a tendency to have an occasional country-sounding track too.
The Alchemist is generally thought to be a gem of theirs.
CDs on the S.A. database are :-
- Home
- Live BBC Sessions 1972-73
- Pause For A Hoarse Horse
- The Alchemist
