Turns out Rockadrome does take Paypal, so I've no concern about ordering from them.
Pleased to hear it, Dan. It's always good to know that your order is 'safe' in case of refunds, returns and the like.
Quote:Wow, that's very good to know about the 32K AAC Plus alternative. I never have any problems with such streams with Windows Media Player (obviously I've got the plug-in you mentioned).
I've never tried to use the AAC stream here, merely because the button for it says "Dial-up" and I'm using a Broadband (DSL) connection!
Admittedly, the text underneath the tune-in links are a little misleading. Although true in the sense that if you were on a dial-up connection, the 32 kbps server would be the appropriate link to choose. However, since the upgrade to the AAC+ format (the 32 kbps server used to stream in MP3 format) the quality is immeasurably better and as I mentioned, is actually a competitor to the 128 kbps MP3 stream itself.
I'm going to re-word the text underneath the tune-in links when I have a moment. The main focus is making listeners aware of the AAC+ format and how it can be used as a viable alternative when the 128 kbps MP3 server hits full capacity.
If you're interested (or haven't read it before) I wrote a little piece
here when the 32 kbps server changed format from MP3 to AAC+
