To `tag' their appreciation for certain music.

I have no idea if this has any influence at all on the play-list. I actually do not think it has, as if it would, Radiohead would be deleted by now :p

After the downtime, when Darren was still upgrading the forum, I wanted to show my feeling of happiness when the audio-stream came back on-line. You don't know what you're missing untill it's gone. It came back with wonderful sounds from all (well most) of my favorite bands. Now Waters and Pink Floyd. I'm enjoying that!

I personally also like people to state their preferences. It makes the listeners a bit more `person' than just co-listener.

Indeed.

Whilst there isn't any automatic selection of tracks posted here, it gives new and (new-ish) visitors to the website an idea of what is played. And of course, gives listeners the chance to comment on what is being played.

All of this considered, it's also the most popular thread on the forum, so people seem to like it. Wink
