... Where you actually at this particular concert ??
On a mind altering substance.
Oh to be young and stupid …
Many concerts I hardly remember from the early 70’s
For my first Genesis, this concert, I didn't drive (Didn’t have a license yet)
I only remember a few things;
1) Was my first time at the Shrine Auditorium, standing outside I remember thinking I was all the sudden in India or somewhere.
2) It was cold outside and we seemed to stand in a line forever.
3) After getting inside we sat on the left side, near the back, and I remember there were people seating above us I kept thinking they were going to drop stuff on me.
4) When the lights turned down, I remember Peter talking and talking and talking, wondering when the music would start.
5) After a few songs (maybe it was a whole bunch? My mind was fuzzy…) Peter would talk again, and talk … etc.
6) I remember people would be loud after the music stopped, and when Peter would start talking again, everyone would get quiet all at once, they would stop cheering so fast you could here his first word.
I had only been to 5 or 6 concerts before this one and the thing that really stuck in my mind was the colors; lot’s of colors, and the feeling that it wasn’t a music concert as much as a play or a story show, I sort of remember Peter changing consumes and a light would shine on Phil when he sang his parts in unison with Peter.
I also remember after the concert, when we returned to the car, someone hit the backside door, because it was all bashed in and it wouldn’t open. That the side I sat next to on the way home and I remember hearing the wind and feeling the cold air on the way home.
