Whatever the quality, I'll share.
It was loud, but good.
It is now clear to me why I do not like some of the acts. Once they make a `carpet' of distortion (like in The Main Monkey Business and part of The way the wind blows), my ears hurt.
And my `Rush'-experience *includes* the voice, so for me feel free to skip the drum-solo. If I want drum-solo's I'd go to Slagerij van Kampen.
That is enough for the bad side. The good was that the sound was fine. Maybe a bit too loud, but most of the time very well in balance. The performance was well supported with visual effects, video material and real fire. They were also filming the act with about 20 camera's for a DVD, so maybe you'll all be able to share the experiance later.
I'm not familiar with the song titles, but the second before the break song from their latest album was phenomenal. With images on the videowall to support the song text, this song was overwhelming: the dilemma of closing your eyes for ultimate enjoyment, or keeping them open to see the matching image work. I kept them open. The video editors did a great job. The video changes were superbly in sync with the sound, and the close-ups shown of the band members were razor-sharp and well switched.
The foto-material used to support songs like "Workin' Them Angels" were nicely photoshopped.
All-in-all I am very happy to have done this again. With the bad experience last year, this time they showed they can still do it.
The audience was a very inspiring crowd to. responsive and nice to watch, ranging from the age of about 11 to 71. Unbelievable was a father that had his daughter on his shoulders for about the entire show!
