Title: Fresh Prog #4
Post by MickK on 22nd Nov, 2010 at 9:18pm
Hello and welcome to the bumf for Edition 4 of Fresh Prog, Stellar Attraction’s new release show. Sorry for the delay, but there has been a slight technical problem regarding SA’s switch to a new server which halted the upload of the music. Darran has been working hard to correct the problem and everything is now fine. We have seven albums to sample, five of which come from North America. The albums are:

* K2 - “Black Garden”
* District 97 - “Hybrid Child”
* Tinyfish - “Big Red Spark”
* Hasse Fröberg and the Musical Companion - “Future Past”
* Dean Watson - “Unsettled”
* Persephone’s Dream - “Pan: An Urban Pastoral”
* Glass Hammer - “If”

And pretty good they are too but don’t take my word for it, read the reviews here:

District 97: http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=9610
Dean Watson: http://harmoniclizard.com/?q=node/371
Tinyfish: http://www.tinyfish.org/forums/index.php?topic=1359.0
Hasse Fröberg and the Musical Companion: http://www.dprp.net/reviews/201054.php#froberg
K2: http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=9624
Persephone’s Dream: http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=296909 broken so try http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=9697
Glass Hammer: http://harmoniclizard.com/?q=node/439

Show time is Wednesday December 1st at 8.00 pm (GMT) with re-runs on Friday 3rd at 9.00pm, Sunday 5th at 11.00am and Tuesday 7th at  2.00am.

Hope you can catch some of the music at some time.

Cheers

Mick  :)

Dean your music deserves to be right there with the best !

Looking forward to "Imposing Elements" do you have a record deal for this one or is it going to be another independent issue ? Is the release going to follow the same format ? i.e. download followed later by a physical CD ?

What's the weather like over there. We've got 12 inches of snow here in Sheffield, it's been absolute chaos today.

Thanks for the comments everyone. The K2 (K Squared I think is how you say it !!) drew quite a lot of positive feedback. Try their 2005 release "Book Of The Dead", I think its better than "Black Garden", it features Alan Holdsworth on guitar and the late Shaun Guerin on vocals.

Next programme will be on air in mid January when we will wrap up 2010 by featuring seven albums from the last part of the year, they are:

* Salem Hill - “Pennies In The Karma Jar”
* Manning - “Charlestown”
* Unwritten Pages -“Noah”
* Sunchild - “The Wrap”
* Big Big Train - “Far Skies Deep Time” EP
* Delusion Squared - “Delusion Squared”
* David Minasian - “Random Acts Of Beauty”
