This weekend, Saturday the 26th until Sunday the 27th of June, I will be conducting SAM's annual 'service'.

Amongst other elements, this will involve the backing-up and re-installation of all data, software and drivers. As such, the S.A. stream(s) will be offline for a number of hours over the course of this weekend.

I'll obviously keep the downtime to a minimum and will be working continuously through the night to complete this annual task.

In the meantime, please do not panic - SAM will be back online as soon as possible.

I'll post within this thread as to progress and confirm once a full operating service has been restored.

All data has been backed-up and SAM's dual RAID hard disk drives have been formatted.

SAM's (local) SQL server has also been wiped, re-formatted and the latest version of MySQL has been installed.

I'm now going to start installing all of SAM's software.

Time now is being taken installing and configuring SAM's software. Whilst I had taken back-ups of a lot of settings, there's still a fair amount of manual configuration needed ...

Once done, I'll be in a position to copy over the music files - which is going to take several hours due to the size.

The music database took a whopping four hours and twenty minutes to copy over. It's amazing how much it's grown in size over the past few years (with more albums to add soon !!).

Still some fiddling with the SAM software to do yet but everything should be back to normal by Sunday.

All of SAM's software has now been fully configured. Also, the MySQL server has been fine-tuned and configured.

SQL tunnel created and operating successfully between the S.A. website server and SAM.

A deep scan disk has been performed on SAM's dual RAID drives - ensuring that there are no errors with either the disks themselves or SAM's new installation.

All three ShoutCast servers are now connected to SAM and streaming the music without any issues.

Again, apologies for the downtime over the weekend folks. However, I hope that you can all appreciate that this exercise was necessary and all of S.A.'s software is now running on the very latest versions.
