Title: NEW PROG SESSION - HM7
Post by Heracleum Mantegazziani on 9th Aug, 2009 at 2:51pm
Yes, after a long haitus...
HM7 is here.  This will be different from past sessions in this way: I will be choosing some past and present prog classics, but no tune will clock in at under 10 minutes
...so we will be investigating the long form in progressive music.

So relax, pull up a comfy chair and take the time to relish the extended themes of prog!
(at ear splitting volumes of course!) ;)

Friday, 14 Aug @ 9:00pm (GMT)
Sunday, 16 Aug @ 6:00pm (GMT)
Wednesday, 19 Aug @ 2:00am (GMT)
Thursday, 20 Aug @ 11:00am (GMT)

Ha! Made it! 7 minutes in. Almost forgot! Was playing "In The Dead of Night" by UK and reflecting on it as a long 3 part track...and then remembered HM was doing a show of 10 min. & up prog tracks ... and rushed to my computer to tune in!

HM, I LOVE the Bugs Bunny Martian smiley!

Hi Zappa!

Currently playing track:
Willowglass - The Labyrinth

Don't recall hearing, or even hearing of, this before, but it sounds really good!

Below, a detail of the Omega 8 analog synthesizer! I believe this is a contemporary beast!

I have to go shortly, but I'll be back to catch a little more of the broadcast before I go to bed, and then again before I leave the house tomorrow...

Meanwhile, I'm going to leave the stream going and the sound on so my cat can enjoy it while I'm out!

I've been calling my new cat Rosemary, but as of today I'm experiencing temptation to name her "Starcastle" instead!!!

Search under 'Hercmeister' - using the forum search and you will see previous references to this term. 8-)

From past sessions, it appears that our Don prefers 'Heracmeister General ' ;)

Umm - I think I have so sleep sometime tonight - but I'll certainly listen for a while.

Speaking of which, this is the first thing I have heard by Procum Harem which is not AWSOP. It's certainly different - and well done for including it.

Thanks Alan - certainly alot more to Procol Harum than AWSOP
If I may recommend their albums Home or Broken Barricades - amazing stuff - especially Whaling Stories from the former.
Incredible stuff IMHO ;)
