Would  that  be the band that played  Hocus Pocus with all the great yodelling?  It would be awesome  to hear  that tune as I have not heard it in ages.  I'm also partial to Disco Suicide by BrandX ;)

Cool story :) -  and  I figured you had a long resume as a radio announcer =)  Since we are doing King Crimson would it be alright to request a couple?  It has been ages since I've had the album Discipline  and would  love to hear The Sheltering Sky (inspired by Paul Bowles novel of the same name!  outstanding!).  This Fractured Rox - never  heard  that - will have  to check that album  :)

Anything with John McLaughlin would be cool too - I'm not so  familiar with his Maja Vishnu stuff - I heard some  of it a long time ago and it was a bad recording and  I  didn't like it but I've heard some  of  his solo acoustic stuff  and it was amazing - as was his work with Miles :).

There's some live Marillion about to start now but not to worry, I've queued the above afterwards. I hope you'll still be tuned-in, borardicus. 8-)

The song you're referring to is 'Childhood's End' from the 'Misplaced Childhood' album which incidentally also features 'Kayleigh'.

There's often a divide as to listener's preference for either early / latter period Marillion. Personally, I think the Genesis comparison a little unwarranted, only 'Grendal' being an obvious 'early Genesis sound' by Marillion.

Unfortunately not. DJ Heracleum Mantegazziani is probably the best person to answer this question. 8-)

sorry about marillion/genesis reference they obviously have  their unique sound - i suppose my first exposure to them in the late 80s evoked  this  comparison as the  friend  who  told  me about them said they were  like  Genesis :)

The reason why I mentioned DJ HM is that he has run both 'Moog' and 'Mellotron' sessions on S.A. before and will no doubt run similar sessions in the future. He's more of an expert on such matters than myself. 8-)

Don't apologise for the Marillion / Genesis comparison. It's something that's mentioned frequently by listeners and fans of the group, feel free to comment as you wish. :)
