First reaction:  Way to sell out.

Second reaction:  What a stupid advert.

Third reaction:  The ads with Zeppelin are way better.

Conclusion:  Not at all a "wonderous" ad.

• I'm not sure how Yes could have "sold out" by simply allowing a piece of their music to feature in a car advertisment.
  
  
• The advert itself is quite amusing. Not the best in the world but certainly not the worst.
  
  
• I haven't seen the advertisment featuring Led Zeppelin, so I can't comment.
  
  
• It's just an advertisment, that's all. Nothing to get het up about. Just interesting to see a Yes track and storyline featured.

It's nice to see Yes gaining some mainstream recognition! Wonder why they didn't use Roundabout!  :)

Some songs used in adverts aren't as good though!  

THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME?
Well not when used in adverts it seems! There was the Elvis Presley song Viva Las Vegas, used for a Viva Viagra TV ad which raised eyebrows, err, among other things. And the family of the late Johnny Cash, who stopped "Ring of Fire" being used for a haemorrhoid-cream commercial; ironically reducing the 'piles' of cash the advert would have made to improve their, erm, bottom-line.

Now in 2008, Beatles' songs are being considered for use in ads by Sony/ATV Music Publishing which own the rights to 259 Lennon and McCartney songs'. 'All You Need Is Love' may be used for 'Procter & Gamble's Luvs Nappies campaign: "All You Need Is Luvs". Rap-stars have also been allowed to 'reference' Beatles songs to create new hits, although rap-versions carrying a 'bad message' will be rejected. Fans may consider this, along with nappy-adverts as being a bum rap or is that wrap?

For fun one of the UK papers listed Beatles' songs that might be used for potential ads: Penny Lane for Portaloo, Do You Want to Know a Secret? for HM Revenue & Customs (they evidently mislaid some disks with personal data on them) , Don't Let Me Down for Wonderbra, I Am the Walrus for Gillette and Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, for the Plain English Society!

Perhaps we could list some amusing potential songs for ads here! ;)

There isn't a 'spell check' facility within the forum.

Any such suggestions must be originating from your web-browser itself. Are you using Firefox / Mozilla by any chance ?
