Hi there Krimhead,

Unfortunately there has always been an occasional 'blip' in the music that is streamed, however, SAM (the broadcasting software that is used to run the radio station) is very intelligent in the way that it handles any buffering or packet loss, so such events are normally minimal.

Coincidently, I had a meeting with the local Telecoms company today and have paid for an even faster and more secure dedicated connection for the Source 'SAM' Server. This will go a long way to making such problems (however slight and infrequent) well and truly a thing of the past.

I'll post a more detailed update in the 'News Section' when I have a moment.

I have to confess to that minute 'blip' being down to 'user error' - in other words, your's truly messing around with the database when he should know better by now ... ::)

Its allright, almost like a buffering problem for a short period, so its not that serious (in fact I didnt have any problems with buffering for a while)

I just found it a shame that after both the server host undergoing a router upgrade over the weekend and me upgrading my business line for me to then balls-up the broadcast by clicking on the wrong button !! :-[

My ISP are performing work on the local exchange today.

Apologies, there will be intermittent uptime throughout the course of today.

Incidently, I wasn't notified of this at all ... >:(

Just for your information: I have not been able to hear a single bit of music all day.
But, assuming and in full confidence it will be back asap, S-A is worth waiting for.

True Tux, let say that Stellar Attraction is an important part of a healthy day. And let say that nothing beat S.A. for the quality of music. I have been looking for a potable station all morning, and found nothing... I AM DEPENDENT OF S.A.!

All,

As you've probably gathered, everything is back to normal again. :)

Work was carried-out today which involved upgrading the dedicated Business Line which runs from the SAM source server to the ShoutCast servers in London.

Together with the recent upgrade in London, this will ensure even further increased stability, performance and reliabilty all around.

Again, apologies for the downtime but I wasn't made aware by the local Telecoms company that this work was in fact going to be carried out today.

Enjoy.

Please click here to read about the recent ShoutCast server upgrade.

If anyone experiences any further connectivity issues, please start a new thread to avoid confusion.

Many thanks and enjoy.
