A few days after that show, Pete had Peter Banks on the phone with our friend Ms. Sheila in Cali!

That was a few days before that IQ show.

That was a great evening! We had lunch and many beers with friends at a pub in London... Peter Banks attended our little get-together. We went to the Porcupine Tree concert at the Astoria Theater after the get together. PT was awesome!! You guys are going to love the new materail. After the PT show, we went to have Chinese food and drink more beer. Peter Banks again joined us and was sitting with us at our table upstairs. Chris Squire was sitting with friends downstairs.

I spent my time going up and down the stairs visiting with both of them. Both of these guys are top shelf folks and very giving. I had such a great time visiting with both of them.

Now I have to pay for that phone bill!!!!! YIKES!

8-) Hey- I thought the pics were great - I'm just not that familiar with IQ - something I'll have to remedy in the future - can you suggest any particular place to start?

Sure... always glad to help as far as IQ is concerned. The Wake is their first CD... but I would probably start with Ever and then The Seventh House and Dark Matter.

Then I would dive into Subterranea. Subterranea is their two CD concept album. Awesome stuff but I personally would start with those other CDs first and then move on to Subterranea.

Their are three albums that feature Paul Menel on vocals instead of Peter Nichols. Peter was the original vocalist and then left for a period of time. Peter has a wonderful, strong prog voice that at times is reminiscent of Gabriel. IMO, Paul Menel also has a great voice but his song writing tends towards pop. There are very good songs on the Menel era CDs. In contrast, the Nichols era CDs are awesome through and through.

Also, if you don't start with The Wake... make sure you end up with it as it has great songs on it as well.

IQ will be playing their Christmas concert in London on December 9th. If you have any way to get there... go! They are not to be missed live! (also, I just saw that you live in SoCal. London may be a bit far. IQ is attempting to come to the US for one show next year.)

And, if you like a harder edge to your prog... be sure to check out Frost's new release Milliontown.

Glad you liked them. It was my pleasure to post them.

I just needed a bit of prodding by a good friend. (she knows who she is!)

Great pictures, thanks for posting. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

My favourite IQ album is The Seventh House.  Dark Matter is also excellent.

Thanks for the brief overview of their albums and career. I will make sure I check out those albums I don't already have. I don't want to miss out!
