Last few days occassionally I have noticed some packet loss. Has anyone else noticed?  :(

Hi there Clyde_787 and welcome to the forum !!

There really shouldn't have been any packet-loss at all recently due to all of the upgrades that have occurred. A bit obvious perhaps, but were you doing any downloading whilst tuning-in ?

I just checked the server logs for the past week and there haven't been any problems. My ping rates to the server(s) have been very low - as I would expect on the new infrastructure - with no unintentional breaks in connection.

Can you ping the server yourself and tell me what times you receive ? The IP address is 194.79.31.249

If anybody else experiences any problems, please let me know !!

Dee

Apologies :-[

Ok, the streaming software on the Source Server has been seriously upgraded in the form of SAM v 3.2.

If anybody has any problems - buffering ('skipping' in the music), connectivity issues, drops in the stream - let me know.

You really shouldn't experience anything unusual but please let me know if you do !!

Enjoy.

Ok, ok, ok ...

Today, the funky new broadcasting software was left unattended whilst I was out and being a rather clever chap, it was waiting for someone to make a request. As this facility isn't yet set-up on the website, the stream was offline for most of the day ... :-[

There will inevitably be some (short lived) teething problems as I get to grips with this new application so please bear with me !!

So if I request some Queen, it won't go off-line again?!

Pow R. Toch H should have been about 4 and a half minutes long ...

long silences heard here, with 'buffering' showing on Rhythmbox

can someone give the computer a kick?

Aww, c'mon, Dave!  It's only been 3-1/2 hours of the same Floyd tune ... with near-constant rebuffering.

And you call yourself a "fan."  Pssssssh!
