Firstly, thanks to Danrok for posting here regarding the outage that occurred today.

Due to a fault at the local exchange, S.A. has been without an internet connection for most of today. After much shouting and pleading by your's truly, this has now been fixed by the local telecoms company and I'm pleased to say that the stream is now back up and running.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately, the problems with our ISP have continued over the course of the weekend. Engineers have been 'on the case' and streaming has continued where possible. I will post here once I have been given 110 % assurance that connectivity has been fully restored and is stable.

Contention ratio has been increased recently, from 40:1 to 50:1. I don't know if that will affect things. Obviously, it won't cause complete outages.

Yup, I did mention the contention ratio but received a kind of puzzled expression from the JT engineers ... Personally, I'm convinced that the problem is to do with the archaic wiring in the Cottage - since the problems over the weekend, the ADSL line is now currently connected (via a very long cable) to a 'recently discovered' spare socket in the kitchen ... :-/

Engineers will be back here in the week - to install a dedicated ISDN line. 8-)

I still get a service unavailable http://62.41.27.131:7170 when trying to access from my Winamp bookmark or the SA link.  Are we still having issues??  :'( I hope it clears up soon.  I'm having prog-withdrawels.  I may have to break out the old albums and rake them across the bent needle of my Quadraflex. [smiley=undecided.gif]

Hi Druid Bob,

Until this problem is totally fixed and resolved, the best suggestion I have is to check the front page of the S.A. website. If the radio is temporarily offline - it will say so here.

Also, please check-out the Global Announcement regarding this issue. As mentioned previously, I hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.
