Title: Favorite 2005 Releases
Post by NegativeTrend on 26th Dec, 2005 at 7:41pm
For me, 2005 brought 2 absolutely amazing albums that you wont see me without.

Wobbler - Hinterland
Machine And The Synergetic Nuts - Leap Second Neutral

The Wobbler album is an excellent album much in the vain of Anglagard or King Crimson.

The MATSN album is an amazing jazz-fusion album very similar to Soft Machine's output after 'Third'.

Any albums I'm missing out on?

Speaking of Soft Machine: The Soft Machine Legacy Live in Zaandam (2005) is a GREAT album!!
The group includes Elton Dean, Hugh Hopper, John Etheridge and John Marshall. Heavy guitar and crazy sax from former members of SM who never actually played at the same time together.

I think some honourable mention should go to all the great
Remasters of 2005.

Most notably the Steve Hackett and Gentle Giant 35th Anniversary Remasters.

The sound of the latter are particularly stunning...esp. The Power and the Glory and Freehand!

:)
