Hi there KidSock and welcome to the forum !!

There's plenty of 'Gentle Giant' on the playlist at the moment, so I'm sure you won't be disapointed.

As always, if there is a particular track you'd like to hear - let me know !!

Cheers for now.

Here here on the Gentle Giant !!- If I hadn't already tried to stir interest in a Camel session...My next idea would be a Gentle Giant Session. They were actually my first prog concert way back in (brace yourselves)...1977(!) But that is a story for another thread....Knots is a contender for my favourite track..tho I must confess an attraction towards 'Isn't it Quiet & Cold", 'Black Cat', 'Dog's Life', 'Three Weeks in Spain' - in other words...the odd ones.

Fits.

Cheers ::)

1977 those were the days!. I wish Gentle Giant had been my first prog concert. Around that time the BBC had a series of sessions called Sight & Sound in Concert.  One of the best was Gentle Giant . I recorded it by standing my cassette recorder on the TV (technology was simple in those days). The result was a bit poor but it was a tape that was listened to endlessly till it eventually wrapped it's self around the player. I couldn't even tell you what songs they did but it was a fantastic session. I wonder if any offical recording exists of the Session, it would be great to hear it again. ;)

all the best

(Colosseum II did a brilliant one as well with loads from Electric Savage. Great Stuff!)

Thanks Minimoog!! Yes, they certainly were. Unfortunately American television was a little behind the times (still are) to have broadcast something that cool.  I do, though, remember a similar event.  Peter Gabriel gave a concert in LA on New Years Eve 1977- I believe at the Shrine Auditorium - His first solo tour ! There was a simulcast on the radio and my favorite cassette copy met a similar fate as yours! I believe the bootleg is available somewhere, but I wouldn't know where to look.  Great rendition of Back in NYC and covers of Ain't that Peculiar and All Day & All of the Night (miss that tape)
As far as the Giant go - perhaps your show is on the Out of the Woods CD?  I haven't heard it, but mean to pick it up (unfortunately my taste in music is much broader than my financial resources)
Hmmm.... Perhaps a Gentle Giant Session would be a Good Idea. What do you think Dee?

my best to you both! ;D

Hi btn and thanks for the tip.
I did a bit of trawling on the internet and found that several BBC recordings are available. Out of The Woods does have the session on  but Out of The Fire has an extra session from 1973 so I'll see if I can get that I think. I didn't realise GG had released so much material. I have the same problem as far as finance goes espically since finding SA (also want a good quality drum machine at the moment!). Well done Dee for keeping up with the demands we make!!
;D

All the best

I had a quick trawl for PG recordings but turned up nothing so far, will let you know if I find anything.
