Title: Request to add Rick Wright Solo Album to Playlist
Post by ra990 on 25th Aug, 2006 at 9:39pm
Hi All,

Long time listener, first time poster.

I notice that from time to time SA plays Roger Waters and David Gilmour solo projects, in addition to lots of Pink Floyd stuff. Some of the solo work is great, but Roger's "Radio KAOS" is just beyond horrible. What was he thinking when he wrote that?

I just wanted to recommend Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright's "Broken China" solo album. If you all can play Waters' "Radio KAOS," then Wright's "Broken China" definitely deserves a go. Its a very modern, yet extremely progressive album.

Looking forward to hearing some songs from that one on Stellar Attraction.

You all are doing a great job, I love the station! And if I may add one more request...more King Crimson please!

RA

Hi RA,

Just to let you know, I recently converted on old 12" vinyl version of the single 'Confusion' by Richard Wright's group Zee into mp3 format.

This will be added to one of the new playlist that are currently in construction.

Enjoy.

Dee

Wet dream is a beautiful prog album with hints of Randy Newman. Oh master. If you could play any of this i wiould turn into a giant turnip and rid tibet of its evil invaders my mostly farting at them. In the mean time folks, here is a link to a great Rick Wright song.

Ahhh Zee.... lets just say that I agree with Richard Wright himself, who stated that Zee was an "experimental mistake". Haha, but seriously it will be fun to hear it. Thanks!

'Confusion' isn't a bad track.

'Broken China', having been ordered, arrived yesterday and will be added shortly.

Enjoy.

Roger Waters - Each Small Candle  / Current playing song

Each Small Candle is great, as is most of the Amused to Death album and some of the Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. Radio KAOS though...like I said, I don't know what he was thinking. I guess he got caught up in that 80's disco fever and it kind of rubbed off on the album. Worst thing to come out of a Floyd.

I just recently found this station. The Rick Wright solo stuff would be a great compliment to the rest of the playlist it seems. With David and Roger already represented, it's left for Nick and Richard to come inot the fold.

..Speaking of which...anyone ever hear Nick Mason's solo project Fictitious Sports? I haven't - it sounds interesting thought what with Robert Wyatt and Chris Spedding involved.  I've got the Nick Mason/Rick Fenn disc Profiles which is good - has the song Lie for a Lie w/ David Gilmour on vocal.

-Hm

And of course!    How can I forget Syd!   Lucy and the veggieman live on! 8-)  That would definitly round out the quintet of the Floyd.

Fictitious Sports is a pretty humourous album. The music and lyrics are pretty funny. Its not like a serious prog rock album, imo.
