David Bowie passes

I bet David Bowie has had quite an effect on people who listen to S.A. even though strictly speaking he's not prog. The first single I bought was "Jean Genie" in 1972, think the b side was called "Round and Round". Bought "Aladdin Sane" when it came out, it cost £2.38, quite expensive for an album, the reason given was the gate fold sleeve and the silver ink used in the artwork.

RIP David - Major Tom, Ziggy and all the other alter egos.

Very sad news of his passing. Rick Wakeman in particular was a life-long personal friend of Bowie - he was asked to join Yes on the same day that Bowie invited him to form his new group - 'The Spiders From Mars'. Rick also played on a number of Bowie's songs including the wonderful 'Space Oddity'.

RIP David "Bowie" Jones
