Sincere apologies but the motherboard for the source, SAM server (quite literally - smoke and all) blew this evening. I will hopefully have this replaced within a day or two, so in the meantime S.A. will be offline.

Nothing arrived in the post (again) today. I'm written a stern e-mail to the supplier asking where my "next day delivery" motherboard (which was ordered last Wednesday) actually is and for a full postal tracking update.

In the meantime, apologies and I shall update as and when I have further news.

The motherboard has finally arrived in the post today. I have been working on it's installation all evening. Hopefully S.A. will be up-and-running very soon. As always, I shall post when I have further information.

Tell me about it, Andrew. Needless to say, I'm absolutely furious with the supplier. Not only due to the delay but the (slightly) different model which they have sent.

Firstly, again many thanks for your patience. As you can all hopefully imagine, nobody has been more frustrated than I at the delay in restoring the station to a normal, functioning manner. The hardware supplier that I had been dealing with in England was nothing short of hopeless. Both in the unacceptable delay in supplying the replacement motherboard but also the incorrect model.

Having had what I hope you all can appreciate, a break last Saturday evening, I have since been working very hard every evening to restore SAM and have S.A. online again.

I hope to have this complete by the end of the coming weekend and will post as and when I  have further information.

Many thanks - especially to those of you who have kindly donated towards the expense involved - I will be contacting you personally once we are live again.

Many, many thanks for the support and kind e-mails. It's really been appreciated. Seriously.

Anyway, I'm pleased to say that the new SAM box appears to be running without any glitches - for now. I still have a lot of work to do to restore and configure everything to it's previous, running state so please bear with me. As always, I'll post as and when I further information and progress is being made.

In the meantime, thanks for your support and of course, the extremely welcome donations during this unexpected 'meltdown'.

Thanks all. Everything appears to be functioning as normal, although I still have a lot of work to do in background which will be on the whole unnoticeable to you all listening. I shall post a full "report" as to what happened, the problems encountered etc. once I'm comfortable total stability has been restored.

Yes, it was trivial, Andrew. Well in light of recent events, at least. ;)

Basically, the playlists didn't "swap over" as scheduled. I've been experimenting with PAL ('Playlist Automation Language') - a computer language bundled with SAM which enables me to be flexible and automatically change and generally fiddle with the music being played. This is the first time that things have "come to a halt" though due to my programming. So, apologies to both yourself, Andrew and anybody else who may have been tuned-in at this time. I manually loaded a fresh playlist before leaving to go for work today.
