Just to keep everybody in the loop, the guys at YaBB have now released version 2.4.

In keeping with their ongoing development and enhancements to the excellent, open source forum software which S.A. uses, I will be upgrading to this version soon. As usual, there are numerous bug-fixes and extras in this new release. I hope you can all appreciate that there's a small amount of juggling going on from my point of view as a number of the popular mods that were a feature of earlier versions of YaBB (and included on the S.A. forum) have yet to be added. This is purely due to YaBB's open source nature and the fact that there are several developers that code additional features that can be bolted-on to the forum. As such, these always need to be updated to remain compatible with the latest version. This has already started to happen with version 2.4 with more mods due to be released soon.

Also, please bear in mind that the upgrade to this new version will involve a considerable amount of work from myself. Apart from other elements, I will have to manually upgrade the black-look default skin to ensure that it is fully version 2.4 compatible.

As usual, I'll update as and when I have more information and as things develop.

I have now upgraded the forum to the very latest version of the YaBB 2.4 !!

As you have no doubt already noticed, all of the membership information, boards, threads and posts are totally intact. As usual, there was an extremely large amount of manual work involved in this upgrade. Not only installing the new, core files for the forum but configuration and having to manually update the default 'black look' template to make it 2.4 compatible.

I would suggest that each of you check your profile within the 'User CP' tab to ensure that all of your personal settings are as they should be. Also, if any nobody notices anything unusual, odd, weird etc. please start a thread within the 'Ask The Admin' section.

No, your not going mad, the font size within the reply box has increased in size in version 2.4.
