All,

As some of you have no doubt noticed, the 'Currently Playing Track' and the last five songs are not being displayed on the 'main' pages of the website. I'm currently on holiday and I have limited access in order to investigate this problem. I'll be back home shortly and will bring things back to normal.

The stream(s) are running as normal.

Many thanks, pno. It was sod's law that something would go wonky whilst I was away - my money was on the website as it's currently in transition ...

In the meantime, playlist information can be found on the 'old' script by clicking here

As I'm away from S.A. HQ, I'm unable to update the website with this - I should be able to do this remotely - one of the many reasons for website server upgrade. 8-)

Oh, the nightmare ...

The stream has now fallen-over and I am unable to remotely login to SAM. There could be any number of reasons for this but unfortunately, there is little I can do at the moment.

There are a number of automatic recovery processes in place, so it is quite possible that the SAM (and the stream) will kick back-in of it's own accord.

In the meantime, please accept my apologies for the continued disruptions. Normal service will be resumed upon my return.

Great relaxing vacation Darran ? ... Oh well I can live upon my own personnal music bank for a while. Don't get to concerned Dee, remember that your on vacation! The forum works well!

It still a miracle that you noticed the problems... Don't forget, SA is a hobby !

What a shame that the SA Server has crashed while Darran is away ... leaving us all SA-less.

Aw well ... stuff happens !!

Gave me a chance to reacquaint myself with ALL the great Genesis albums from Trespass to Wind & Wuthering !! :)

The currently playing info seems to be far behind the actual songs that are playing. Is anyone else having this same issue?

Hi Steven,

There's always a delay between what's displayed on the website as 'currently playing' and what you're actually listening to. This is purely due to way in which ShoutCast works - in so much as there is a 'buffer' between what is being streamed by S.A. and what you're listening to. This alleviates 'breaks' and 'drops' in the music that's being streamed, as if there's any delay in the information being sent to you, your PC still has enough data to keep playing uninterrupted until the 'buffer' catches-up with itself.

The information that's displayed on the website is 'live' and taken directly from the source, SAM server at S.A. HQ.

Normally this lag is no more than around 10 seconds or so. However, the longer you tune-in for (generally speaking) the larger the buffer will become.
